Rivas versus Sherbrooke
On Thursday, February 1, 2023,
Rivas, Costa Rica
Miguel, my neighbor came to deliver my milk this morning at 6 o'clock. When I see him climbing the hill in my yard, I hurry to join him because it's a long way to get to my house.
Here is the route to get to my house from the street.
Here are the prices for milk and sour cream!
3 liters of milk for 2000 CRC
1 bag of sour cream (Natilla) 1000 CRC
To summarize this, I will give you an example of Rivas versus Sherbrooke.
Imagine Sherbrooke's CĂ´te King before the road was built.
Imagine Sherbrooke's most emblematic monument, the Monument aux Braves-de-Sherbrooke.
Imagine the birds flying in the wind.
We are in 1802 in Sherbrooke.
I live at the top of CĂ´te King near the Monument aux Braves-de-Sherbrooke and my neighbor lives near the Aylmer bridge.

Sometimes I go down the King hill to swim in the Saint-Francois river, the water is pure and clear. People come to draw their water from this vital source. Imagine!!! Do you have imagination?
To go and buy some fruit and vegetables, I have to cross the bridge and head towards the east of the city. Sherbrooke is beautiful with its green hills.
The cows take pleasure in grazing the fresh grass that Miguel has cut. My neighbor is a farmer and he owns 4 cows. I'm in the countryside here in Rivas in 2023.
I really like the mountain climate!!! It is a pleasant climate!
If you want to go to the highest peak in Costa Rica (3800 meters), you can go to the Chirripo National Park located in San Gerardo (1350 meters).
The park is located 10 km from Rivas, or 2 hours by bike! Yes, you read correctly! Rivas is a town surrounded by mountains. The house I rent in Rivas is located 930 meters above sea level. The town of Rivas is 880 meters above sea level.
I returned 3 days ago to Dominical e n bus (Sea level: altitude 5 m) The temperature is now unbearable!!!
I realize that I like the climate in the mountains, it's a pleasant temperature! It's summer in Costa Rica, the children will soon be going back to school! The teachers are already at work preparing for the new school year!
For me, it's a very quiet little life here in Rivas! I have a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. I have a view of the Rivas park and I see the church in the distance!!!
As we often say here "Gracias a Dios". However, I would like to add "Thanks to life!"
I have to leave the country before February 26!
I will be going to Nicaragua soon! I'm going to have to pedal fast!!! (Rapido123)
